ASSIGN USERS WITH EMAIL
Assigning (or inviting) with email via the DSD system is the smoothest onboarding process possible. It takes the individual right into the course or group to which the admin has assigned them, without having to confirm their email address for security purposes. The email is already confirmed by the system as it is entered by the admin during the assignment process.
From the global admin navigation bar menu option, you can assign (register or sign-up), manage, and handle pending invites with ease. You can still assign and manage people directly from your courses, and forms, but the global area provides one centralized location for those who prefer this. Assign people to any group, course, form, team, or site on the platform. Here is a short step-by-step demo (animated GIF) on how to assign a participant to a course using the Assign functionality:
- Select the object to which you'd like to assign the users.
- Select the role for these users (Participant, Editor, Admin etc.)
- Add the People to Assign (via CSV, Email Address or from the System)
- Click the 'Assign' People Button
- Add an additional message to the invite/assignment email and send!
*Note: you can check a box to choose not to send an email invite for anyone who is already in the system.
ASSIGN WITH A CSV UPLOAD
You can invite up to 10,000 people at once using the CSV upload feature.
*Please note: CSV files should have only two columns (name, email) without a header/title row:
In order to bulk upload a larger cohort, here is the tutorial to watch:
You can limit visibility to only the things you want your users to see. For instance, assignment allows you to decide to only show/release courses/forms to the people who you assign them to. You can also Assign courses to all group members, for everyone in the group to see (Choose 'assign to group' by toggling the 'Assign to entire group' button, in the publish tab of any course editing area).
MANAGE USERS
Easily see who is already assigned and manage them. Manage current users in courses, groups, etc: remove, delete (unassign) and reassign them. Here is a short screencap that demonstrates how to remove a member from a group.
