Overview
Notifications (also known as reminders or 'nudges') can be swiftly added to any course steps and then customized. These messages can be used to congratulate a participant for completing the previous step, or to share a custom reminder about the next step they will be working on.
They support each learner across their learning experience, while reminding of them to continue to move through the course. When Saige AI is enabled on a subscription plan, these nudges are automatically created by Saige, and can be edited and refined if desired.
For example, create a custom notification message in step 2 with a trigger to send once the prior step is completed.
Once step 1 is completed that will trigger the step 2 reminder and message.
Adding Notifications to Steps
Adding notifications to steps follow and almost identical pattern as adding notifications to courses, however they are located within each step's settings area, at the very bottom of a step. Here's how to leverage this powerful tool:
Navigate to the bottom of any step to find the settings.
Go to the 'Notifications' settings and click 'Edit'
Before clicking edit, the default (or prior created) settings will show without having to edit anything.
Click on the message and it will open to just reveal the current message.
Update settings to desire preferences including:
Time interval - e.g.: 1 Day, 3 Hours (any desired interval).
When the notification should be triggered with the drop down that defaults to 'Participant Starts Step' (e.g.: after a step completion, etc.)
Click 'skip if completed' to skip sending this notification to learners who have already completed the step
Customize the email subject and message
Use template variables (merge tags) to automatically add things like the person's first name
View the default message
Once all settings are updated, click 'Done' to close the edit window
Make sure to click 'Save' in the notifications box to finalize the updates.
Once edits are completed, click done to close the window and 'Save' to finalize the edits.

*Note: Any notification can be deleted by clicking the 'trash' icon next to that notification. Any deleted notification will no longer operate.
